Course Description

The purpose of this course is to ensure that participants are well prepared to deliver the Incident Investigation workshop at their workplaces.  There is a focus on facilitation basics including: Instructor preparation, introductory comments, how to set up the workshop exercises and key points to introduce.

There will be an opportunity to briefly review the workshop content which includes: the proper ways to assess the root cause of incidents, and how to prevent them from re-occurring, but the emphasis will be on practical, hands-on facilitation training.

Participants will be asked to present the workshop content throughout the course.  We provide a safe learning environment where participants can receive feedback from their peers.  This course will provide participants with the knowledge and confidence required to deliver the workshop content to co-workers in their facilities.

Additionally, participants are provided with the tools required to deliver the workshop content, including: online access to the participant’s manual, the workshop PowerPoint/PowerPoint(s) and participant’s handouts or workbooks, as required, and a copy of the trainer’s manual, lesson plans and additional materials to support facilitation of the workshop.

By providing a combination of class-room instruction, student participation, course work and presentation practice, we are able to provide a complete understanding of the requirements for delivering an effective Incident Investigation training program.

Activities designed specifically for the train-the-trainer course are included to provide participants with the background information required to answer any question that may be asked during the delivery of the content workshop.
